Scott W. Urquhart
Associate - Vancouver Offices
Scott practices in the areas of insurance defence litigation and commercial litigation. He began his legal career at a downtown boutique insurance defence firm before joining Lindsay Kenney’s general litigation department in 2007 where he primarily represents clients in cases involving construction law, fraud litigation and personal injury. While still representing individuals and companies in commercial disputes, Scott’s clients include insurance companies, and he acts on behalf of their insureds as both defence and plaintiff counsel. Scott has appeared as counsel before all levels of British Columbia’s courts as well as WorkSafeBC and the BC Human Rights Tribunal. He has conducted multiple mediations, examinations for discovery, and appeared as counsel at trial and in chambers.
Scott was a BC public school teacher for several years on Vancouver Island before attending law school at the University of British Columbia, where he won the Joseph Prodor Prize in Torts, the Davis & Company Prize in Appellate Advocacy, and the Borden Ladner Gervais Prize in Conflicts. Outside of his law practice, Scott tries to play golf, enjoys the outdoors and studies history.
