Nicholas Safarik

Associate - Vancouver Offices

Nick Safarik joined LK Law in 2008 as an associate lawyer in our Vancouver office. He practices in the area of general insurance litigation and has acted in the defence of occupiers’ liability, motor vehicle accidents and property loss claims, as well as numerous subrogated actions. His areas of interest include fire litigation, subrogation, trial and appellate, insurance coverage, occupiers’ liability, and maritime and transportation.

Nick has extensive experience in the defence of personal injury claims arising from motor vehicle accidents, as well as in admiralty and maritime law matters and subrogated actions. He has also accumulated over five years of experience defending against third-party property and personal injury claims, and advancing subrogated claims on behalf of insurers.

During his undergraduate studies at Queen’s University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Honours), Nick spent a year as an exchange student in Freiburg, Germany. In 2004, he received his law degree from Tulane Law School in New Orleans, Louisiana and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2008.

While studying at Tulane, Nick was a member of the Tulane Juvenile Law Clinic, and represented indigent juvenile defendants in delinquency proceedings in the New Orleans Juvenile Court system, and served as research assistant to the Clinic’s director. After graduating, he worked for the Florida State Government and presided over appellate level administrative hearings relating to employment benefits.
