Deborah H. Taylor joined Lindsay Kenney LLP in 2001 and is a partner in our Vancouver office. Deborah practices general insurance litigation at all levels of the British Columbia court system, and has successfully defended personal injury claims before both judge and jury. Her clients include general liability insurers and property insurers, advising on and defending commercial host liability, motor vehicle, occupiers liability, personal injury, products liability, and property claims.
Born and raised in New York City, Deborah received her Bachelor of Arts in Drama there from Pace University in 1973. In 1993, Ms. Taylor earned her Juris Doctor degree from Tulane Law School in New Orleans, and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1994. She has been a lawyer working in Vancouver since her 1997 call the British Columbia Bar.
Ms. Taylor brings extensive business experience and community involvement to her law career. Prior to becoming a lawyer, she worked in higher education administration at Pace University Graduate School, City University of New York, Montreal’s CEGEP Vanier, and at The New School For Social Research in New York City. She also managed a New York City luxury hi-rise building in addition to other residential and commercial properties before pursuing her dream of practicing law. Deborah has just completed her term as President of the BC Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, an international organization promoting educational opportunities for women, and has been a board member for Ovarian Cancer Canada since 2002.
An avid runner, Deborah Taylor completed the NYC Marathon in 1987, as well as numerous other races including L’Eggs Mini Marathon, New York City; Crescent City Classic, New Orleans; Vancouver Sun Run; and Haney to Harrison 100km Relay. Outside of the office, Deborah also enjoys golf, theatre and food.
